A sagacious mind would stick to the fact that there’s no one way to teach. We have come a long way from direct instruction led teaching in certain areas were learning is based on children interest, getting rid of memorizing things, doing mental arithmetic and where teacher facilitate than teach. Given the concern of child’s learning, we are more open to the idea that every child has unique way of learning and prefer this unique style over direct instructive learning. But our notions about direct instructive learning may be wrongly placed. Perhaps its tantamount to missing on an important aspect of teaching.
